Jonas is an associate of the firm. He brings dedication and conscientiousness to his work, and is able to assist clients in both English and Danish. As an associate, Jonas works on all aspects of the firm's practice including civil and commercial litigation, employment and labour, human rights, administrative, and regulatory law. Jonas has made multiple appearances before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and worked on a wide array of cases including at the Ontario Court of Appeal and before numerous administrative tribunals. Jonas has experience providing advice and representation on matters involving defamation, partnership disputes, insurance litigation, employment contracts, severance packages, wrongful dismissals, professional discipline, and human rights issues.
Jonas is a volunteer with Pro Bono Law Ontario. He has contributed to and been a panelist at Continuing Professional Development seminars including Osgoode Professional Development's Next Step: Succeeding in Today's Legal Market.
Prior to joining Pinto James LLP, Jonas completed an internship at Schwartz Perry & Heller LLP, a prominent New York City employment law firm. Jonas also completed a placement with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's New York City office. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
Andros v. Colliers Macaulay Nicolls Inc., 2018 ONSC 1256 (case under appeal) – Successfully argued that the employer’s termination clause was unenforceable, and that the employee was entitled to a more generous severance package and bonus.
George Brown College v. Student (unpublished) – co-counsel to the college in a defamation matter. Successfully obtained an interim injunction against the defendant.
