Max is an associate at Pinto James LLP and works in all areas of the firm’s practice.
Prior to joining the firm Max served as a law clerk to judges of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Toronto. As a judicial law clerk, Max assisted with files involving civil litigation, administrative law, alternative dispute resolution, and appeals. He also completed oral and written advocacy training with judges of the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
In law school, Max summered at a labour, employment, and human rights firm in Ottawa, and worked as a caseworker in the landlord and tenant law division of the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic. In his final year he completed an exchange program in international human rights and migration law at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Prior to his legal career Max worked as a journalist and as a geographic information systems analyst in Montreal.
